Why Consign with Stop Staring Boutique?

​

We sell worldwide to a broad market due to our online presence and wide-range of designer clothing, bags, shoes and accessories. We have a track record of being a trusted consigner that supports the sale of authentic brands, as well as ethical and sustainable fashion. We therefore accept consignments nationally (Australia) or internationally.

  • Message us to book an appointment for consignment drop-off

  • If you live interstate or overseas you may post consignments to 256 Toorak Road, South Yarra, 3141, Victoria, Australia. Please note that consignments by post will be at the owner's risk while in transit until received.

  • The quality and value of consignments will be assessed remotely.

  • Once an assessment has been completed, an offer of a fixed Buyout Price (BOP), with terms and conditions of the consignment, will be communicated by e-mail.

What we consign
 

We accept high-end, designer branded clothes, shoes, bags and accessories. They may be:

  • local or internationally recognised labels, or

  • contemporary or vintage.

We only sell authentic brand labels. If you wish to consign a high-value, designer bag, pair of shoes, or accessory, please submit, where available: 

  • an authenticity card; 

  • an invoice or receipt as proof of purchase; and/or 

  • the original box or dust bag.

 

If none of the above are available, we will complete an online authentication with an independent authentication specialist, at the consignor's cost (usually around US$30).

Preparing for consignment
 

We recommend you:

​

  • Dry clean or wash any soiled apparel, noting stains. Pay particular attention to: 

    • the underarms of tops; 

    • the crotch of pants; 

    • linings of dresses and skirts;

    • holes/pulls in the fabric; and

    • strong odours.

  • Wipe down shoes (inside and out);

  • Clean handbags (inside and out); and

  • Replace missing buttons.

The consignment process
 

  • We assess each item and offer a fixed Buyout Price (BOP). The BOP is the amount you will be paid after your item sells.

  • Following a sale, bank details will be requested. You will be paid the following month, after the month of sale. The process can take up to 28 days post month-end reconciliation of all sales.

  • We consign for a minimum period of 6 weeks. If you would like all or some of your consigned items returned, then you will need to give us notice by e-mail at least 5 days before the end of the 6 week period. Otherwise items are usually held for the duration of the relevant season (or as agreed).

  • If unsold after each month, the BOP will be will be reduced by 30%, after each successive month-end reconciliation.
